Originally a CA native, I used to visit San Francisco often, weaving my way through the bustling streets of historic Chinatown, eyes alight with wonder, with the tantalizing aroma of fresh garlic and BBQ pork sizzling on a wok somewhere. I was always drawn to the charming shops that line the sidewalks, making my way into each single one to admire the array of cute little coin purses, each more exquisite than the last. Here is where my appreciation and love for Asian-inspired crafts and aesthetic began to develop.
At RedKimonoDesigns traditional Asian aesthetics is crafted with contemporary design to create unique, statement-making Japanese-style knot bags and zippered pouches that are as functional as they are beautiful. From selecting the fabric to carefully crafting into works of art, every piece in my shop is handcrafted by me here in my home studio in sunny Florida, USA, where I have been living since 2013.
